Calories Burned Skiing

Compare the calories burned skiing to a variety of other activities at the calories burned chart.

Skiing is a lot of fun, and any calories burned skiing should be seen as a secondary benefit to skiing, the first benefit being that you’re having fun.

This is the kind of mindset that is needed to burn calories over the long term and achieve ambitious weight loss goals. The amount of calories burned skiing isn’t comparable to the amount of calories burned jogging, for instance, but it is enough that over the long term there will be an impressive amount of calories burned skiing.

The only real drawback with skiing is that you need a fair amount of equipment, it often isn’t cheap and is also seasonal in most places.

Still, burning calories having fun is always better than burning calories doing something you don’t enjoy. You’re likely to quit the thing you don’t enjoy. Most people enjoy skiing, however, and have no problem doing it for hours a day, which is fantastic for burning calories.
